EXCLUSIVE: Curvy Con takes over New York City and social media

CurvyCon 2016-page-0 (www.BlacksinHollywood.com) – Hundreds of the most beautiful full figured women (and the men who love them) converged upon Manhattan slaying with every wardrobe change and cocktail sipped. Curvy Con – which is in its second year – sold out and is already pre-selling tickets for 2017 conference which is moving to NY Fashion Week.

Attending Day One of Curvy Con 2016 was Mary Mary stylist “Goo Goo,” gospel super singer Tasha Cobbs (Break Every Chain), blogger/TV host Jawn Murray and Project Runway winner Ashley Nell Tipton, among many others.

The day started with a two hour workout session powered by JC Penny. The women were given a four hour break and returned glammed up for a “Sip and Shop” high end fashion carnival. Vendors lined the walls and could barely keep up with the sales. Some sold out and had to ship items to the women. Afterwards, the group filled two tour buses and four Uber SUVs and headed to a penthouse party in Long Island City.  The fashion show was awesome but the impromptu catwalks by every attendee was the highlight of the night.

BlacksinHollywood.com was invited to attend the swanky event, which should have been named “Beautiful people with hearts of gold,” because everywhere you looked the women (and the men) looked amazing.

If Day One was unique, fun and fashion forward, Day Two was like getting two cherries and an extra swirl of whip cream in your sundae. Plus, the founders made the announcement that Curvy Con will move to September 2017 to be included as part the NY Fashion Week events. Guest who adore Curvy Con weren’t as thrilled as we would have through about in the move citing the excessive prices of hotels during Fashion Week and the rush of getting their kids and themselves in ‘back-to-school.’ But the Curvy Con audience is a loyal one so there’s little doubt that the conference will once again sell out.
