PHOTOS of the WEEK: Dionne Warwick celebrates her 75th birthday

dionnefinal( – If you’re the classic type who likes refined wine, legendary singers and amazing food, you will love the photos from the surprise party that Dionne Warwick‘s closest family and friends threw for her recently at Mr. Chow’s in New York City.

Guests were asked to arrive early to avoid tipping off the singer.

Upon arriving, guests were able to stroll down Dionne Warwick lane with an over-sized collage of some of her most iconic photos where awesome photographer Lisa Pacino snapped their photos. After leaving the memory filled photo drops, an impressive display of swag bags teased guests. Upon entering the private dining room, the atmosphere was festive and electric.

Guests included Congressman Charlie Rangel, singers Freddie Jackson, Melba Moore, Nona Hendryx and Cissy Houston. In addition, staff from Dionne’s newly established foundation joined other guests like Sir Martin Sorrell, all of which were seated at my table. We had a blast and Sir Martin is absolutely charming.

“I was honored to be invited and to attend,” said DC Livers. “The food was great. The guests were great. But all of us had one thing on our minds: The Cake! When Dionne cut the cake there was lots of oohs and aaahs when it was revealed to be pistachio cake. It was buttery smooth, slightly dense and flurry (how did they do that?) and most of all delicious,” said Livers.

The guest of honor seemed truly shocked and happy. Although the party took place on Friday, December 11, 2015, her actual birthday was the next day but she had a full day of foundation work to do so it was a perfect excuse to spend a wonderful Friday night in New York City.

Check out the amazing photos from the event.
